Those who know me, as well as regular readers of my blog, will know by now that when I get a bug up my ass about something, I’ll unload with both barrels.
I rarely hold back.
It typically stems from being unable to understand the mentality of others, or some frustration that I’m experiencing. I typically don’t direct my hatred and anger at specific people or organisations… it’s just giving too much of myself to those I care less about than the kind of material your dog leaves behind when you take it for a walk.
So, why am I getting so wound up? Well, it’s because of narrow minded, short sighted, redneck, self serving, egotistical attention whores like the Westboro Baptist Church. Read the rest of this entry »
My wednesday night futsal team, Trojans, has just played their first ever B-League Grand Final.
Going into the match, I was quietly confident… I know my team mates rise to challenges and the team we were playing, we’d managed to beat in both rounds during fixtures.
But it’s funny how life never quite goes the way you planned…and how news can leave you thinking about the things that really matter. Read the rest of this entry »
Just got back in from seeing The Police at Suncorp Stadium
I’m glad to say that they are as tight as ever… still proof of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts. Stewart Copeland’s drumming is as incredible as ever… as is Andy Summers virtuosity on the guitar… and Sting’s still got an amazing set of pipes (must be all that breathing from the Tantra :P).

If only all international conflict could be sorted this easily…
Guess it also shows why the Nazis ultimately lost World War II.
Today, it’s POURING down in my home town of Brisbane.
So… what does every ignorant half wit do when it’s raining???
They drive to work, of course, and make our city’s existing traffic situation 1000 times worse. So, they not only make the traffic situation worse, but they do it at a time when it’s inherently unsafe.
To make things worse beyond that, most people don’t give a flying rats rectum about how much they make things difficult for others so long as their lives are easier.
And maybe, just maybe, I might have an answer to this. Read the rest of this entry »
So, after a week of running, sweating and in some cases, bleeding… we’re all back at home with time to reflect on the week just gone.
Which begs the question, how do I feel?
Many words spring to mind… tired, sore, sleep deprived (ok, two words, but hey, i’ve had an average of 4hrs sleep each night, so cut a guy some slack)… but mostly, I feel a mix of relief at being home, in my own bed, seeing Laura after a long week away… and a sense of anticipation. I can’t wait until the 2009 Nationals. Read the rest of this entry »
Today we’re back at the AIS. It’s the business end of the championships and the drama has not yet ended.
It seems that I’m getting a final after all… to be held at the AIS Main Arena, where all the finals take place, regardless of age group. I know that it’s only due to injury of one of the other referees, and many would consider it the ‘lowest’ appointment of the finals… the 11 Girls Final, as second referee… but I don’t care, as I’m in such a good mood from a brilliant week.
