Is it better to have loved and lost, than never loved at all?

I got asked recently this very question: is it better to have something and lose it, or to never have it to begin with.

Now, if I wanted to be cynical and my normal smart-arse self, I’d say that in the case of something like syphilis, i’d say no… i’d rather not have it to begin with, than have it and then lose it. Religion and Science… Part 2

Ok, seems Cardinal George Pell has come out condemning the idea of therapeutical cloning and stem cell research, calling all Catholics to do the same.

One of the best things to have happened over the course of human history was the separation of state and church. Honestly, if this is the kind of thing we’re going to have crop up anytime there is a push for medical or scientific advancement, then I swear, the first lot of aliens that arrive, I’m hitching a lift off planet. Lost for words…

ok… it’s not that often that I’m at a loss for words, but having read todays news I simply failed to comprehend the sheer scope of ignorance and blind stupidity that exists even in this supposedly ‘enlightened’ world.
